We took a quick visit to the cathedral and if you are familiar with it you will know that they have this enormous thrilled that hangs from the ceiling and that they swing during mass. Here is a quick shot of it.

We saw Mariano and Anna as we lined up for our certificates so they finished also. They said they would see us at the Mass for Peregrinos at noon tomorrow.

  7. Congratulations Dermot and John. Very well done. Now, to even out your tan you just have to do it in the other direction! 😉 Enjoy the celebrations, the relaxation and not having to set the alarm.

  8. A hearty congratulations, mi amigo! Your fitness levels put me to shame, and perhaps just might inspire me a bit – that’s a good thing. Now it seems to me that the most significant aspect of finally having arrived is that you can eat with the rest of Spanish society at a time when the restaurants are actually open, plus you can partake in a couple of bottles of Spanish wine. No more energy balls. The chicken is open! Enjoy.

  11. BRAVO!!! You can be so proud of such an amazing achievement and on schedule – terrific! as I know that was important to you both, though there were many times I wished you would take it more easy on yourselves but I know also it’s not your thing – for either of you. You have had us full of admiration, in awe of your endurance, entertained by your great blog, captivated by the wonderful photos, inspired by your optimism and good humour even during the many hardships, so proud and happy to be able to play the small part in your endeavor of cheering you on from [as Donal said] the comfort of our armchairs. Enjoy your well earned few days left to rest, eat and sleep and I’ll be looking forward to seeing you on Tues with a hearty casserole in the oven, a frame for that magnificent Camino certificate and a hat for u my dear!! 12. Congratulations does not seem a big enough word! You have both accomplished a lifetime of taking on the struggle in the symbolism of this presenting itself every moment of every day. We all rejoiced last night. You had a large group of followers reading the blog every night and wishing you strength and safety on the way. You inspired us all. Kathleen

  13. Well Done to John and Dermot! As Kathleen says, Congratulations seems too small a word for such a big achievement!
May you both remember the Grit and Determination that got you through this time, and harvest the results and benefits for many years to come in whatever future challenges life invites you to undertake
