Accommodation

This page provides details of the arrangements we have made for accommodation along the trip

As we planned the trip we decided to try to pre-book accommodation for each night.  Since the only accommodation available in many of the towns along the route is a local, often untended, hostel with communal rooms, these clearly do not provide the option to pre-book.

Why pre-book:

To ensure  we can find accommodation

Security; got caution from previous pilgrims of issues with security (theft), in particular in communal, untended hostels.

Rest: Large, communal rooms tend to be noisy and disturbed

Other: The benefits of a private room include access to power outlets, private shower/bathroom facilities etc.

We were a able to make most of ou reservations via Booking.com which also means we can cancel or change the reservation up to the last day without penalty.
