Dermot O’Carroll
Born in Ireland, I have lived in Canada for the past 40 years . I worked in telecommunications until I retired two years ago. I am now a happily retired 62 year old. I am pretty active – mostly cycling and kayaking and decided to undertake this ride to break in the nice new hip I got last August.
John Fitzgerald
I am 65 and retired from full-time work which was mainly in accounts area. Still work half days (and still book-keeping – how exciting!) in Dominic’s Community Centre in Tallaght, Co Dublin.
I use a road bike for commuting etc. every day and generally one longer trip at week-ends but have no experience of mountain bikes with panniers on unsurfaced pathways.
